O roli matematyki w naukach technicznych

The main aim of the paper is to analyse certain discrepancies between the mathematical structure of some engineering theories and the real objects or processes that are described by these theories. It is shown that the discrepancies under consideration can be diminished by using the alternative forms of description of the physical situations, which are based on the mathematics in the alternative set theory or on the nonstandard analysis.
