Ponad 140 lat temu odkryto zjawiska termoelektryczne i stwierdzono możliwość wykorzystania ich do bezpośredniego przetwarzania ciepła w energię elektryczną. W pracy podano ich krótką historię oraz aktualny
stan rozwoju generatorów termoelektrycznych. Fakt ich dynamicznego rozwoju w ostatnich latach można uzasadnić tym, że obecnie istnieje bardzo duże zapotrzebowanie na lekkie, małogabarytowe i niezawodne w działaniu źródła energii elektrycznej.
THERMOELECTRIC GENERATORS
The paper presents the survey of the development of the thermoelectric generators. The present stage in the development of the design of the thermogenerators and thermoelectric materials is given. The possibilities of practical applications of these electric energy sources are shown. Also, a special kind of thermoelectric generator, called the thermoelectrochemical generator, is briefly described.
