Unconventional method for flexible rotors balancing

Cesare Rossi, Domenico de Falco
An analitcal-experimental method for balancing flexible rotors is proposed and some experimental results are presented. By this method it is possible, in principle, to make balanced a flexible rotor, by only a single test run determining the masses that eliminate, in every considered rotor section, the unbalancing. First experimental results, on laboratory test rig, confirm the possibility to reach a good balancing of the rotor within an extended range of rotational speed.
