Stress intensity factors for an interface penny-shaped crack in laminated elastic layer

Andrzej Kaczyński, Stanisław J. Matysiak
This paper concerns the crack-border stress singularities in a micrope-riodically stratified elastic layer weakened by an interface central penny-shaped crack. By using the homogenized model with microlocal parameters (cf Woźniak, 1987a) the stress field with an inverse square-root singularity is obtained. In the context of linear fracture mechanics, the stress intensity factors are defined as the local crack response parameters which can be obtained in terms of the solutions to the corresponding Fredholm integral equations. Some examples arc solved numerically and the results are presented in the diagram form.
