Transient natural convection heat transfer in non-Newtonian second order fluids
The paper presents the numerical solution to the problem of transient natural convection in viscoelastic fluid of the second order in vicinity of vertical surface temperature of which suddeny rises. To solve partial differential equations resulting from balance of mass, momentum and energy for the item discussed, the method of finite differences has been applied. As a result of solution to balance equations transient fields of temperature and velocity, and also transient runs of changes of the Nusselt number, dimensionsless shear stress and relative difference of normal stresses have been determined. The results obtained have been compared with the available experimental data for Newtonian fluid in the steady-state case.
