The paper presents a program of the finite element method applied to the static analysis of rectangular plates with jumptype variable rigidity, under arbitrary boundary conditions and loads. The set of equations resulting from the discretization process is solved by the iterational Seidel method with super-relaxation. Application of the Seidel method enables the multi-step construction of the set of equations and its simultaneous solution. The program is verified on several numerical examples. The procedure discussed may be applied to other finite element problems.
