Stateczność eulerowska prętów przekładkowych z rdzeniem o zmiennej charakterystyce

The problem of overal instability of a sandwich strut with a core of the highest strenght properties near the faces and decreasing towards to the axis of symmetry is considered. A formula for the critical load for a strut having both ends free supported and compressed with forces acting in the planes of the faces is derived. The calculation shows superiority of sandwich struts with the core of variable characteristics over struts with constant properties.
